Teaching methods of private practice Orofacial Myology
Sandra is a Certified Orofacial Myologist with an MS in Health Sciences and BA
degrees in Speech Therapy and Education. She has been in private practice in
Denver, Colorado, since 1969. She started The Coulson Institute of Orofacial Myology
in 2003 in Denver and now teaches and lectures internationally. Her practice specializes
in therapy for orofacial muscle dysfunction, tongue thrust, thumb and finger habits,
tongue placement for specific speech/articulation disorders and snoring. She is on
the Board of Heritage College and was named “Woman of the Year in Orofacial
Myology” by the International Association of Female Executives. She is named in
Who’s Who in the West, Who’s Who Worldwide and is a member of the National
Association of Professional Female Executives. Sandra is a Past President of
the International Association of Orofacial Myology where she currently serves on their
Board of Ethics and the Board of Examiners. She is the Program Chairperson for the 2012
IAOM Convention in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
